The inauguration of the exhibition Pioneers of Flavour took place on 25th February at the Siyâsa Museum in Cieza. The event was attended by Antonio Luengo, Regional Minister of Agriculture of the Region of Murcia and Pascual Lucas, Mayor of Cieza, among other government representatives invited to the event. It took place as part of the activities programmed in Floración and just one day after its presentation.
Pioneers of flavour is the exhibition created by Thader Cieza to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the cooperative. It features different forms of expression through which the history of the company and the first farmers who founded it is told. It is not only the history of Thader Cieza, it is also the anniversary of the flavour and appearance of peaches in the town and this can be seen through photographs, documentaries, illustrations, traditional tools and implements.
Among the pieces on display are the watercolours by the well-known artist and influencer Alicia Aradilla. Her works depict the Cieza peach, the saturn peach and some of the cooperative’s fields both in blossom and in production. The photographer Carmen García has also collaborated in the exhibition and has included two collections. In the first, she has portrayed the flowering landscapes with a strong allusion to the farmers and, in the second, the Thader Cieza cooperative with pieces that reflect the passage that the workers leave behind after each season.
