The marketing and labelling of the PGI Cieza Peach begins at the launch event held in Thader Cieza

The most eagerly awaited moment of the peach season has finally arrived and Romea and Baby Gold, the two peach varieties with the Cieza Peach PGI, are ready to start harvesting and marketing this week.
These two varieties, which are already marketed under the PGI ‘Melocotón de Cieza’ brand, meet all the organoleptic characteristics required for this. In particular, they stand out for their intense sweet flavour, the perfect balance between sugars and acidity. It is a peach that releases its juice from the first bite and leaves no palate indifferent. Its texture is very consistent and juicy.
As for its skin, it stands out for its light yellow background with orange tones. In the case of the Romea variety, it also has a reddish orange layer. They have a minimum size of A and a minimum firmness of 20N. The brix degree has a minimum of 10º and the total acidity varies from 3.3 to 6 malic acid/l.
This year the harvest in Thader Cieza begins with some delay compared to the previous season due to the weather conditions suffered in recent months. Even so, our team is already working to continue guaranteeing all our clients the highest quality production on the market. We have an approximate production of around 300,000 kilos and we are planning to increase our plantations in the coming years.
