Manuel Ruiz, president of the Cieza Peach Protected Geographical Indication and president of Thader Cieza, this morning presented the new production, marketing and promotion campaign for this peach. The presentation ceremony, which took place in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga in Murcia. It was attended by Mr. Antonio Luengo, Regional Minister for Agriculture of the Region of Murcia, and Mr. Tomás Rubio, Mayor of Cieza, among other government and institutional representatives.
The president of the PGI stated that he was very proud to be able to present this new campaign with the definitive approval of the PGI at an international level. That is why this year they have developed a special promotional and marketing campaign for this product. The producers have launched a new website igpmelocotondecieza.org and the new advertising campaign “Tierra, Tradición y Sabor” has already been launched on the PGI’s official social networks.
Manuel has declared that “this quality seal, which allows us to highlight the prestige of our peach, is both a guarantee of quality for the consumer and a great recognition for all the producers”. Last week they began harvesting the peaches and Romea was the first variety to be ready. This will differ in around twenty days from the harvesting of Baby Gold 6.
On the other hand, the producers launched a raffle last Sunday with the help of the well-known Instagram account @murciaexplorer in which the 10 winners will obtain two passes for the “Experiencia IGP Melocotón de Cieza” (PGI Cieza Peach Experience). In this activity the winners will discover two of the main natural landscapes of the city of Cieza and will be able to enjoy a tasting of freshly picked peaches at the farm of one of the producers. The advertising campaign also consists of different media inserts, collaborations with influencers and the presence of the PGI at Fruit Attraction 2023.
In order for the national territory to be the first to be able to enjoy this very special peach, this year the entire production will be destined for this market. Consumers can already find these peaches in points of sale throughout the country identified with the quality seal IGP Melocotón de Cieza.
